Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient
Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient (SAIOP) helps individuals build the skills needed to live independently and improve daily functioning.
What to expect
The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) is scheduled to support maximum participation. Services are provided at least 9 hours per week, spread over a minimum of 3 days, with no more than two consecutive days without services.
Each session lasts at least 3 hours. Participants may receive alcohol and/or drug screenings as clinically indicated.
Each person in the program receives an individualized Person-Centered Plan (PCP) that outlines their goals, needs, and treatment preferences. This plan is reviewed and updated monthly to ensure it continues to meet the participant’s needs. Participants also receive case management services as outlined in their PCP.
SAIOP is typically provided for approximately three months.
Structured group sessions led by experienced facilitators who provide guidance and support
A strong focus on developing social, vocational, and life skills to promote independence and personal growth
Individualized recovery plans designed to meet each person’s unique goals and support long-term success
Benefits
SAIOP services may include, based on the Member’s treatment goals:
- Individual and group counseling and support
- Family counseling, training, or support
- Substance use testing to identify recent alcohol or drug use
- Relapse prevention strategies
- Life skills training
- Crisis contingency planning
- Case management activities to coordinate, arrange, or integrate needed services, including ongoing assessment and reassessment
