School-Based Mental Health

The School-Based Mental Health Program brings professional counseling and emotional support directly to school campuses, ensuring students can access the care they need in a familiar and comfortable environment. By integrating mental health services into the school setting, the program helps reduce stress for families, increases early intervention, and promotes a healthy school community.

What to expect

Licensed clinicians available on school campuses
Students have access to trained, licensed mental health professionals during the school day. Clinicians provide ongoing support, respond to emerging challenges, and help students develop healthy coping skills—all without requiring families to coordinate transportation or outside appointments.

Individual and group counseling for students
Services include one-on-one counseling sessions tailored to a student’s specific concerns, as well as group sessions that build social and emotional skills. Group topics may include stress management, peer relationships, self-esteem, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.

Collaboration with parents, teachers, and administrators
Clinicians work closely with school staff and families to ensure students receive comprehensive support. This may involve regular communication, participation in student support teams, and helping educators understand behavioral or emotional needs so they can better assist students in the classroom.

Benefits

Reduces barriers to accessing mental health services
By offering services directly in schools, the program removes common obstacles such as transportation, scheduling difficulties, and long waitlists. Students receive support where they are—making it easier to engage in consistent, meaningful care.

Improves emotional well-being and academic performance
Mental health support helps students manage stress, regulate emotions, and stay focused in class. Over time, this leads to stronger academic engagement, improved behavior, and greater confidence in their ability to succeed.

Supports positive social development
Students learn essential skills for building healthy relationships, resolving conflicts, and communicating effectively. These tools support long-term emotional growth and contribute to a more positive school environment.

Who It’s For

The program serves students in participating schools who would benefit from convenient, on-site mental health support—whether they are experiencing stress, anxiety, behavioral challenges, social concerns, or simply need a safe, supportive space to talk.
